The best places for Sunday lunch in Edinburgh
The perfect Sunday features a lie-in, a slow read of the papers, maybe a leisurely walk... and most definitely a roast. Here's our round-up of the top Edinburgh places doing roast dinners right
Best for second helpings... One Square
With everything from a build-your-own salad station to perfectly cooked meats, the Sunday roast at One Square is a bottomless buffet of delights with endless sides of potato dauphinoise; veg galore; and enormous fluffy Yorkshire puddings - so good we went back three (yes three!) times. Sunday lunch is served from 12.30-2.30pm, £29 per person.

For lunch with a view... Twenty Princes Street
Overlooking Edinburgh's Old Town, the relaxing surrounds of Twenty Princes Street set the scene for a mouth-watering three-course feast that's as concerned with provenance as it is with perfection. Succulent beef from John Gilmour Butchers is accompanied by all the trimmings and an indulgent choice of sides if you so wish. Just make sure to leave enough space for dessert and peruse the extensive wine list.
Available every Sunday from noon with individual roasts priced from £15 per person and roasts to share. To book Tel: 0131 652 7370 or visit twentyprincesstreet.co.uk
For the perfect cut... Chop House
With a bespoke cocktail menu and an achingly cool décor of steel, pared-back brick, stylish lighting and plush leather, Chop House has fast become both the place to eat and the place to be seen. Excellent cuts of beef are cooked over an open charcoal grill and served with bone marrow gravy, roasters, honey roast root vegetables, butter greens and a Yorkshire pudding. Everything that a roast should be.
£18.50 per person. To book visit chophousesteak.co.uk
The family-friendly haunt... The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen
Choose from a choice of meats, as well as a vegetarian option, served with gravy and all the trimmings. Sunday lunch is served from 12 noon - 5pm. £19.95 for two courses, half price for children under 12, under-fours dine free.

Best for bubbles and a proper feed... Cucina
In the words of i-on's own Carrie Mitchell, the Sunday roast at Radisson Collection’s award-winning restaurant Cucina is "the best I've had in Edinburgh." Not a compliment given lightly from someone who has done her fair share of research. The Sparkling Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 12.30 until 3pm with a buffet of starters, followed by a roast, then a choice of classic desserts, tea or coffee and did we mention the never-ending glass of prosecco? Yep, this is right up our street.
