The grey hair trend

The grey hair trend

The grey hair trend is going nowhere fast so if you’re tempted to take the plunge, now’s the time. You can go all the way with a solid grey, silver or work a bit of grey balayage.

“The palette ranges from the purest of slick silver to grungy graphite grey. Tones of smoky violet grey, pure pewter and carbon are also popular,” explains Danny Dowie, a colour expert at Cheynes Hairdressing on York Place, Edinburgh. “The grey tone can also be tinted with other tones such as pink, blue or violet.”

“Depending on how adventurous you’re feeling, the technique can be as bold or subtle as you desire. The colour can also be placed exactly where you want. But, for those looking for a true clean grey, the best approach is to pre-lighten the hair to a clean base and then apply your chosen grey on top. By doing this you’ll get the best possible colour result.”

To find out more or to book a free colour consultation at Cheynes Hairdressing, Edinburgh, Tel: 0131 558 1010 or visit www.cheyneshairdressing.com. For a last minute hair quick fix the salons also offer The Blow Dry Bar Service for just £25 for walk-ins.
