The Hot Ticket: Shows on our radar this month
Fill your month with festivals and comedy, and look forward to the UK and Ireland tour of Matilda The Musical in 2019
Rhinoceros, 23 March – 07 April
Photograph by: Mihaela Bodlovic
A hit at last year’s Edinburgh International Festival, this new adaptation by Zinnie Harris of Eugene Ionesco’s 1959 absurdist farce has a darker underside. In a sleepy French town, as the inhabitants turn one-by-one into rampaging rhinoceroses and grow to like it, the metaphor is for the rise of fascism in Europe in the 1930s.
