1. ANDY WARHOL & EDUARDO PAOLOZZI | 17 November - June 2019

© 2018 The Andy Warhol Foundation

Taking its name –I want to be a machine–from a quote by Warhol and its cue from the idea that art might be increasingly mechanised, this exhibition kicks off on 17 November and pairs the pop artist with one of Scotland’s greatest artists to show how their work reflected these ideas.

Runs until June 2019 at Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Modern Two). nationalgalleries.org

2. SILENT LIGHT | 18 November  - 05 January 2019

Edinburgh's Christmas 2018

We know it’s early but we’ll be getting in the festive spirit and heading to George Street for Light Night on 18 November. It marks the official opening of Edinburgh’s Christmas and choirs from across Scotland will perform as they light up George Street with fireworks. It’s a free event and sure-fire way to get you in the festive mood. After that we suggest you book tickets for Silent Light, the huge silent disco headlining this year’s programme. Fusing the Street of Light with Fringe 2018 hit Silent Adventures, it’ll take place on George Street up to five times a day.

Tickets from £4.50 at edinburghschristmas.com

3. THE GIANT LANTERNS OF CHINA | Opens 16 November

Giant Lanterns of China

This impressive light spectacle at the Zoo takes you into the world of Scottish myths and ancient Chinese legends. From magical unicorns to towering giants and the Loch Ness Monster, it’s a fun event for all the family with performances from traditional Chinese entertainers, handmade crafts and delicious food. Opens on 16 November.

Tickets from £9.50 for children and £18 for adults. edinburghzoo.org.uk/lanterns
