Run a new kind of personal best and get tough on cancer

For Edinburgh runners seeking a new challenge there's no better opportunity than Cancer Research UK’s Tough 10. The 10k trail run takes place in Pentland Hills Regional Park on 28 October giving participants the chance to pitch themselves against the elements while challenged by muddy trails, steep hills and uneven terrain and raising money for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving research.

The track poses three different levels of difficulty and costs £20 to enter. For details visit

Urgent appeal to save Joshua Nolan Foundation

Josh Nolan Foundation

Set up by Laura Nolan following the tragic loss of her son, Josh, to suicide in 2013, the fundraising efforts of the Joshua Nolan Foundation go towards counselling sessions for those at risk of taking their own life and have proven invaluable in helping the vulnerable. Unfortunately, the Foundation faces closure without significant donations in the next few weeks and needs more people to join the effort to fundraise and spread the word.
