What's on this weekend

5 Mins

If you can manage to tear yourself away from the weekend's rather significant sporting events, there's plenty to taste, test and try out from family fun at the National Gallery to an A-list beauty pop-up with Rihanna. Here's our highlights...

Fun for the family

National Gallery of Modern Art

Forget soft play. Keep kids entertained during the holidays at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art on Belford Road. There's four weeks of free art activities, plus a new pop-up play area with climbing frames, play pods and balance beams. The programme starts with a special family fun day on Sunday 15 July and runs daily from 2pm-4pm. Indoor activities are also available for children of all ages and focus on colourful, hands-on making.

Scotland's Indian Food Bazaar - A Culinary Journey

Things are spicing up at The Briggait when Glasgow's biggest Indian food festival takes over on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 July. Serving dishes from all six of India's regions, you'll also find cookery demos and live music as well as the opportunity to buy authentic Indian dishes and drinks using a specially designed currency - the 'Scottish Rupee'.

Scotland's Indian Food Bazaar - A Culinary Journey, open noon until 10pm each day. Children welcome until 8pm.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna

If it's good enough for RiRi, well... The A-list icon's stunning Moroccan Spice collection drops this Autumn serving up a sultry palette for every craving. Inspired by the pink and gold sands of the Sahara and the metallic-blues of Morocco, beauty junkies are invited to preview the products this weekend at SWG3, Glasgow, on 14 July from 10am.
